But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.”

Micah 5:2

Merry Christmas and God bless you! What a wonderful time of year this is. There really is no other time like it. So many things make this season special, the lights, food, decorations, music, and good cheer that are all around. However, above all, this season is special because of the very special person that is celebrated. It can be easy to get caught up in our to-do lists and excitement (or stress) and forget why we are celebrating. It is so important to make time in the busyness to celebrate Jesus and give Him the glory and honor that He deserves. Jesus sat at the right hand of the Father and was filled with His power and glory, but He chose to empty Himself of that in order that one day we might stand in the presence of the Lord. The more I think about the sacrifices Jesus made from the time of His birth, the more in awe I am of Him. Christmas is also a huge blessing because it gives us as believers a big open door to talking about the Good News with those around us. I challenge you to use those opportunities to the best of your ability, don’t let this chance pass. Our Circuit Riders around the world are sharing the story of the birth of Jesus to children and people who may have never heard it before. Many of them will teach their Sunday Schools through the holidays, even on Christmas Day. Please keep them in your prayers as you go through this season. Pray that they will be continually filled with the joy of the Lord and that their joy will spread to others. Thank you so much for the wonderful support you are continually giving. We are so thankful for you. Merry Christmas!

BETHEL SUNDAY SCHOOL

We are thankful to God because, in this community, we really are fighting a battle just as the town is named (Batalla is Spanish for battle). Even though the religious leaders tell the kids not to attend the Sunday School classes, the kids still come. There is one of the religious leaders who regularly comes by calling to the kids to come to the “Doctrine” class. However, we have believed and learned that this ministry belongs to God. So the kids do not go to the other class, and they have told us that they feel better with us. There is one nine year old boy named Santos. Even though his parents make him go to the doctrine class, he always comes to the Sunday School classes as well. Many times, he has behaved rebelliously, but thanks to God, we have seen a change in him. Now he is different than when he first began coming to our classes. Let’s pray for his parents that God will deliver them from the idolatry that they are in and they will have a true and personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Maybe God will use Santos to speak to them. Thank you for your prayers and support of this ministry.
