The ministry to the orphans through the Rescue Units has brought hope and improved their lives. Children are now attending school, have access to medical help, and are raising crops and animals that provide for their needs. By providing nutrition seminars, grinding mills, medical supplies, literacy classes and clean wells we have had a practical and life-changing impact on villagers living around each Unit.
As the love of Christ compels us, we realize we do not want to just meet these peoples’ physical needs, but we want to meet their most important needs spiritually: introducing them to the Lord Jesus Christ. In order to help meet spiritual needs we have begun a new ministry called Motorcycle Sunday School Mission. Traveling by motorcycle to locations that can not be reached any other way we have developed Circuits that hold weekly Sunday schools. Each Rescue Unit also holds a weekly Sunday school. A Sunday school consists of a Bible lesson, a Bible memory verse to learn, games, and a craft color page to reinforce the lesson. We also facilitate a Teacher’s Training Course to teach area adults how to run Sunday schools so that the ministry can continue to grow.
We have found that many of the areas we work in have little or no foundational Biblical training in place. It has been a great blessing to provide this opportunity for spiritual growth and discipleship. The Circuit Riders also take some medical supplies with them and find that they are the only source for life-saving malarial drugs within many miles. The Circuit Riders also meet with and pray with many of the children and villagers each week.
