Melisa Unit Sunday School class

“For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands.” Psalm 92:4

We are grateful for your faithful support and so blessed by what God is doing through the ministry of MSSM. Pray for the Circuit Riders to have wisdom, good health and safety on the roads. We have just put our concept motorcycle the Lesson, on the road. We appreciate your prayers that this ministry will be successful in raising up more Sunday schools.

Wellman S.S of Hope & Faith / Words of Life Pavillion

We have a urgent prayer request regarding this Sunday School. The facilitator of this Sunday School, Miscious, was stopped from going to Sunday school by a mob of men who wanted to kill him. This area is a Muslim area and the children have stopped attending the mosque because of what they have been learning at Sunday school, which has made some of the men in the area angry. Miscious went and appealed to the head chief of the area, many people spoke on his behalf stating that Miscious has been so kind to their children and that they are doing better in school as a result of the literacy classes. We are awaiting the decision of the head chief to see if we can continue Sunday school in this village. We are thankful Miscious was not harmed and know that the Gospel light is having an impact. We are praying for God to continue to get Glory in this area!

Wellman S.S of God’s Children/ Bob & Bernie Bland Pavillion

We are seeing the attendance grow at this Sunday school and as many as 114 are coming each week. The children love the lessons and are very attentive. We have a few children that have bad attitudes and we are praying that the things they are learning from the Word of God will change their hearts. The kids are most excited to colour pictures each week. We are praying for a strong relationship between us and the village chief this is important for us. We visit and encourage him each week.

Wellman S.S of All God’s Children/Risen Son Pavillion

We are seeing some improvement in the attendance at this Sunday school we used to have only 30 but now as many as 49 are coming each week. The thing that really stands out about this location is that the kids love to pray. When I ask for a volunteer to pray, all the hands go in the air and they shout, “me uncle”. These kids lives are being changed. We are definitely planting seeds and soon it will be harvest time.

Agriculture

There are lots of activities that has happened in Agriculture. The funny story is that all their goats went blind, they couldn’t see food and anything else. This blindness took two weeks to last. As they were seeking for medical help, they just saw that they are able to see and they did not know what the cause was and what cured them. Some are suggesting that maybe is snake poison but they not sure.

About field they happy that they have finished weeding in maize and groundnuts fields. They finished applying the last fertilizer and they will be doing Monkey security very soon for the maize is tasseling now. They have planted sweet potato seeds and these are not only for the Unit but the orphans have planted theirs again. And some are just waiting for the much rains to come so that they should plant their too. Lastly the Lord is helping them to achieve much in Agriculture and have high products.

Project

It was good this month because they got much help from the base because Mrs Wylie helped them to buy the materials for fixing the roof leaks. They have used to fix the tabernacle roof because it had many holes but now, though they have not yet finished, there is an improvement. They did not have much things to do in project because they had to put much of their effort on Agriculture according to the season.

Camp

It praise to God that only this month they have fed more than 50 children. They fed them at different times. They fed them during work days when they were working in the field and other different jobs. They have had some kids who are from far places coming to visit them and help them if there is a need, and they have also been preparing food for them to eat. These kids are from Vyovyo, Thope and Benga villages. It has been so good for them to have food all this time since they did not struggle with the problem of food but now they are running short of the food and they hope that at any time the coordinator Mr Wylie will bring it for them.

Evangelism

They had a very interesting evangelism and this was done by them the facilitators. Wherever they went for visitations they shared the gospel and some important stories that can help the guardians as they are caring for the orphans that they should continue living with them happily. Six homes were visited in this month and two homes are from Kanyemba village, two are from Sinoya, and two are from Mapulanga. The orphans and the guardians were for visist. They also liked this system of visitations and they ask God to give the much strength for the evangelism.

Education

There is a good news on education because eleven kids are going to school freely as their problem of school Uniforms is solved. These Uniforms were sown by the facilitators during the last refresher. The kids were receiving these Uniforms with big smile and their names are Fatuma Banda, Chikumbutso Kalulu, Willard Kalulu, Dalikeni Chikhwethe, Fatsani Nambera, Amina Kandulu, Lusolawo Rajabu, Glades Zengo, Merry Yohane, Maria Malamulo and Thokozani Machilika. They have also helped three students to pay for their identity cards at secondary school. These are Jefita Banda,Chiku James and Amina Kandulu. With this, education is promoted.

Special Testimonies

They got two types of testimonies, one which is bad and the good one. The good one is of Fatsani Nambera, he is a registered orphan of Wellman Family Orphan Rescue Unit and is aged 17. This young guy did not like their Unit programs mainly the encouragement of working very hard at school, attending Church services, and many more. He is in form one now he has changed and he came to them to reveal the change he has experienced. He said now he has seen the importance of school and of being educated. He has also realized that without God everything is in vain. So they have seen that the Lord has helped him and now he is a trusted guy at his school, home and the Unit. He is asking them to keep praying for him.

The sad story is about the three children Mercy Kwachakale of 16 years, Stella Kwachakale of 10 years and Medson Kwachakale of. These children are taking care of themselves alone or they are staying alone and this is because their mother married to a certain man. Its not marriage a lone but also they left home and went away, leaving the children alone. Nobody is knowing where they went, they did not even tell the children where they went. So its bad because the children are struggling find food. That’s the circumstance these children have met and even the facilitators have been touched.

Testimonies of the Facilitators

Masautso Sasamba

It has been his great and good month in this new year 2011 to his life. Many things have been happening in his life. From the first day of the month he has been learning many things from God. The verses that have been leading him are that he should work for the goodness of his Creator and that he needs to believe on the power of the Lord for him to be blessed (John 9:4, Jeremiah 17:7-8.) He has learned that he is responsible for any situation that may on way. And that whatever God has given me has its purpose in his daily life

Mphatso Mbendera

He is happy that he has reached this last day of the month of January. There are lots of things that have happened from the beginning of this month till today. He is taking it a great time that he was working together with the orphans and the Church. This is because he had strength from the Lord. To have this time of serving the Lord, its something very precious to him. He knows without the grace of God no one can stand in His services. He is lastly praising the Lord for the provision joy unto him and the love for others.

Comments from the Encourager

It is good that the ministry is going on at Wellman Family Orphan Rescue Unit. It is showing that the facilitators are putting much of their time serving the Lord. They are the hard workers for the Lord. Thank God for the interesting stories of what the Lord is doing to them and the orphans. It is showing that they are gaining experience of how they can serve and trust Him in all the circumstances. I have just encouraged them by phone that their good fame is an encouragement to many and that they should keep on pleasing God.

Thank you for your faithful support.

Blessings,

Mrs. Linda Maher

Motorcycle Sunday School Mission.
