Dear Sponsors of the Wadman Circuit,
SPRING OF LIVING WATER SUNDAY SCHOOL
This is a Muslim area and we have faced a lot of challenges since we started teaching here. Only a few people come to classes, but we are trying our best and there has been some improvement. The kids who do come first attend classes at the mosque so they usually show up very late. Despite this some Muslims are coming to know the importance of trusting Jesus. Sadly we don’t have adults coming at all. We have two kids who are so faithful and they encourage us to not give up. Their names are Desire and Christopher Chalunda.
TENT OF THE UPRIGHT PROVERBS 14:11 SUNDAY SCHOOL
This location is very encouraging to us. The people are very willing to attend Sunday School both children and adults. The chief himself encourages his villagers to attend the classes so that they can become good citizens and so that they will be found innocent on judgement day. We appreciate this willingness. However people do often come late, we have been asking them to come on time but it has only improved a little. We pray that the people attending will be changed for eternity. We currently have ten women who are attending and they in turn encourage kids to come. We also appreciate one old woman named Lexina Jumpha because she encourages people to come to Sunday School. Some of the participants are now able to pray which is a blessing.
KING OF GLORY PSALM 24:8 SUNDAY SCHOOL
This location is going well and we are thankful that the chief is helping with recruitment. We have a large number of people attending and even the chief comes to learn. We believe God will bring fruit from here and that He will reward the sponsors on the last day. The adults who had been attending have dropped off because it’s rainy season and they are busy in their fields. Some kids have also dropped off because they are guarding their families fields from monkeys. One of the kids who is being changed by the Sunday School is Petrol Lafiel who is 9 years old. He is excellent at phonics and is very attentive to the Sunday School lessons.
DEFENDER OF LIFE PSALM 27:1 SUNDAY SCHOOL
We are so thankful to be teaching in this place, there were so many hinderances at first and it took us a long time to set it up. One hinderance was poor communication with the chiefs in the area. However since we started the actual ministry things have been running smoothly. We are thankful that a couple of villagers were very helpful in recruitment here. Each week we are experiencing an increase in attendance. We praise God for making this location successful. We praise God for a boy named Chisomo who is 11 years old. He sometimes gives problems to the teachers because he likes to talk. But it encourages us to see that when we ask a question to him he answers better than those who are quiet.. We now have a couple adults attending and their presence has caused other people to come as well.
BEAUTIFUL CROWN ISAIAH 28:5 SUNDAY SCHOOL
It is true “No sweet without sweat.” We say this when we did setup for this Sunday School. When we came to teach on the first day we found nobody ready to attend the classes, although we had already talked to the Chiefs and other villagers. When we asked the Group Village Headman about the absence of people he said “I told the people but they are not understanding well about this ministry.” This happened a couple weeks in a row. We tried our level best to solve it by talking to the teachers around the area, and visiting people and talking to the children. We were so happy to finally see people coming to attend classes. We praise God that He didn’t let us give up. We like Felex Biziwick because he always comes very early to classes and so we always teach him extra.
WAY OF UNDERSTANDING PROVERBS 9:6 SUNDAY SCHOOL
This is the leading Sunday School of our circuit so far. The difference here than other places is we have high numbers of people attending both children and adults, plus people are very flexible and able to learn without problems. They feel responsible to learn from our classes. We pray that this Sunday School would produce high quality fruit. We are so thankful that some of the people have decided to turn and follow Jesus. Some of the people who were backslidden Christians when we arrived have realized that they need Christian fellowship.
We trust you enjoyed this update. We look forward to all God will do through this ministry in this new year. Thank you for your faithful prayers and support of MSSM in Malawi.
Blessings,
Mrs. Linda Maher
